Speaker 1We dressed up like cardboard Box robots and took the little robot fam all around the neighborhood . Love it , love it yeah it's great , turned out great .
Speaker 2Yeah , we have similar , similar itinerary , did the same thing walk our neighborhood collecting candy . I know if you've heard of that kind of Halloween tradition . We were all went in the theme of Mario . I was Luigi , we had Mario Princess , peach toad we even got we even got a dog Kong tie for my dogs , so the dog was doggy Kong . Anna my wife was a banana , her racetrack banana , so it's very Mario themed . It was a lot of fun , it's good .

Speaker 2like it . Yeah , it seems cool . Yeah , okay , I Apparently it's really good . I need , I need to check it out , but I'm I never gonna movie theaters , obviously , so it's more of a at-home film kind of guy . Yeah , so it's out there , you can find it . Yep , we will all right . Cool , let's go ahead , jump in . We got lots to talk about last week . A little bit . The playoff committee dropped their new things , their new ranking for the first time , and then we're a lot of you look ahead to next week . So it's a quick review of last week . Grass quickly , mike . Unc and Duke both lost . Who's the second best team in the ACC right now ? Is it Louisville ? Is it Virginia Tech ? Because they're playing .
Speaker 1I Still think it's probably UNC or Duke , even though they they both lost I there's a case that can be made for Louisville for sure .
Speaker 2Yeah , and they're . They're heavy-favorite , which we'll talk about later in the show , but they're there . Also , miami if it weren't for that insane Lost to Georgia Tech , they would be right there as well . That's that is going to prove to be incredibly costly lost . But on the ACC it's like Florida State and then it's like the Hoover Dam , are you know ? I get the monster , the grand Grand Canyon better analogy and then the next number two team . So we'll see about that . Oklahoma goes down to Kansas . Kansas , classic storm feeling . They took on the uprights , they threw him in a body of water . I know you've all skin appreciate that you're into that type of thing . After a big win , rock chalk , baby , give me Oklahoma . Oklahoma , kansas takes .
Speaker 1Yeah , I don't know . Kansas played really well . Oklahoma continue to make mistakes . I think if they play that game nine times out of 10 , oklahoma still wins it . But this one time they got got they turn the ball over , or constantly . It seemed like they were just making mistakes , shooting themselves in the foot . Kansas was right there to take advantage of them . Um , yeah , I'd love to see that kind of , that kind of upset . Kansas is Making some waves .
Speaker 2I kind of don't think Oklahoma is that good . I don't think . I think they might be a little fraudulent . I know they got up for Kansas to beat Texas and they get credit for beating Texas in Red River . It was an awesome game . They got up and they got it done . But like I'm not convinced Oklahoma is that good . Their defense is all of a sudden really suspect . We'll see about them down the road , but I'm about to scratch them off of my playoff list .
Speaker 1Ah , you know , I I'm not there . I'm not there yet . I mean maybe not a playoff team , they're still a very good team .
Speaker 2Yeah , but I think there are two or three lost team , not a final 14 . That's what I'm really saying , because I felt like I think there was a point we were talking about them as big 12 champion . I just I think they're gonna play Texas again . I think Texas is gonna kill them again . I think this time Texas is gonna get .
Speaker 1Assuming Quinn Ewers is back , I think they're gonna see well , if they play Texas again , then they're a one-loss team . Playing Texas again , there are two lost team . If they lose the Texas and they're looking at like A New Year's six bowl true debt , true debt . So that's still a very , very good team . It doesn't make the playoffs .
Speaker 2Correct , they were like six and six last year . It's a pretty huge improvement for venables in year two it was a good on them . Uh , impressive showing from Notre Dame murdered pit 58 to seven Narduzzi . After the game did you hear the comments about him throwing his game , his players , under the under the uh bus ? He was like essentially he was like my players aren't , we're not very good . We thought we were better in the spots and his players were like what the heck man ? And then he went back and gave more context and it was just as bad .
Speaker 2He said the same thing again .
Speaker 1He threw his players through the bus twice . We thought we replaced him with better players . We didn't .
Speaker 2I listen . I just need to clarify . I thought we didn't replace them with better players . That's why I meant to sell . So okay sorry , cool , cool . Uh , not a good look . Uh , georgia erased Florida . I'm worried about Georgia .
Speaker 1All of a sudden they look good , I thought that that would be a better game . Florida came out and punched him in the mouth , scored right away . Nothing , that's right . Some again some questionable calls , um by billy napier . Uh , there was a terrible early Fourth down attempt . That was , like botched , just a bad time to go for it . Bad play call , bad all the way around . And it really Georgia never looked back from there . Um , yeah , georgia looks looked to be the real deal again . Georgia did it last year . They sleepwalk against Subpar competition as soon as can state .
Speaker 1Yeah . And then as soon as anybody says like , okay , this is Georgia's tough test , they beat the brakes off them and they did that . I didn't think Florida was Necessarily gonna challenge Georgia to win the game , but I thought it would be a closer game . I thought it would be into the late third quarter before Georgia pulled away and they Did not . They dominated .
Speaker 2Yeah , I think Florida covered plus 14 and a half . Thanks for that , gators . It didn't work out for me . Um , no , that that was bizarre . Fourth down call On that . Fourth and one . The Travis at n like double reversed . That ended up going like like on their own 35 . Um , graham Erts was getting , was getting killed all day . Uh , lad mcconkey is good . Um , it doesn't seem like they're really gonna miss brad . Um , uh , brock Bowers .
Speaker 2Thank you , brock Bowers and Brad Bowers when that is Brock Bowers , that much , but we'll see . Um , I think Georgia might be uh Waking up and Carson Beck has looked much better this month than he did earlier in the season , so give him credit for his growth and maturity . Uh , I'll talk about , uh , the cow game really quick . Uh , cal , usc , usc wins a 50 49 thriller . Good for them . I guess they're a six and 16 . I don't know what to say about them . Did you see what happened at halftime ? So they went to halftime and the ref during halftime were like , oh , there's actually one second left . So they went back and they were , they were gonna go play that one second before the second half and it happened to be a 33 yard field goal . So that kicker got out there for 10 minutes practicing that one field goal , that 33 yard field goal USC ices the guy and he misses it anyway . Incredible .
Speaker 1Yeah , incredible . That is another piece of extremely Bizarre and head scratching officiating . We've seen it time and time again from from college football refs this year . Yeah , what can you say , man ? Cal should have won that game , went for it for , went for two . Uh , to win the game at the end , miss the two-point conversion , usc scrapes out another win . Looks Pretty terrible doing so even with Caleb Williams doing what Caleb Williams does . Yeah , I don't know , man , it seems like they're regressing this year .
Speaker 2I just don't . I just I don't think USC is good . I think Lincoln Riley's in trouble and Alex French is an unserious coach , and that's not even to mention the pro . They had to stop the game for a while because there was protesters , who are sat unlocked at half field .
Speaker 1So that's just california things .
Speaker 2Yeah , that's calbert lee , right there in nuchelle wild stuff , ohio state , with a healthy travion henderson is potent , which is good , because I don't think common court is that good . Who also got hurt , for the record . Um , I think wisconsin is gonna get there . Uh , I think lock is their guy , the guy who replaced tandem waterkeye . He is doing enough things . Like you know , lock is your future . He's the freshman . He's made a couple throws in that game . Obviously they weren't going to beat Ohio state in that defense , but he looks pretty good . If I'm a wisconsin fan , I am bullish on fickle , I'm bullish on lock and I'm letting him play the rest of the season and see what he can do .
Speaker 1Yeah , fickle knows what he's doing . Uh , we thought wisconsin would be a little bit better coming into this year . Uh , and yeah , I think you know , long term they're gonna be okay .
Speaker 2Uh , jayme you 40 27 win over odu . We picked the wrong homer team , dude , we just we made we made a point to pick the homers and we picked the wrong one . I am making a point , uh , to talk about you . Jayme you every week until they lose . I'm just promise I'm making to all you virginia homers out there . Um , weird ending . Uh , they almost lost in a hail mary . They were like 17 point favorites . So , jayme you kind of played a little weird , but it ended up getting away with the win . Uh , colorado state 15-yard penalty for fans throwing snowballs . Uh , they're lost to air force . I've never seen that . That is a first . As a comfortable first for me , just let the kids have some fun .
Speaker 1I don't know , I don't . I didn't see it , I don't know the context , but yeah , it sounds pretty grinchy to me .
Speaker 2Pretty good , good , well done . It is november 1st , so now we probably start about start talking about christmas , because now it's christmas right , yes , oh god .
Speaker 2All right , moving on . Uh , something is wrong with you . They have now looked bad two weeks in a row . Uh , arizona state and stanford . Uh , they really haven't played a complete game since oregon , which was now seems like it feels like an eternity ago . Uh , the ppp fund is slipping . Um , I don't know what they're gonna take to get him back , but I'm not liking what I'm seeing out of udub two weeks in a row now .
Speaker 1Yeah , I don't know what to say either . They'll get it together . You know , it could be a case of just kind of getting you know the trap game scenario . So we'll see .
Speaker 2I hope you're right , man , because they've got big , they've got monster games . You know we've already talked a little bit about the Big 12 potentially cannibalizing itself with Oklahoma and going down the Pac-12 might as well . There's more what UW Oregon has already played , but there's plenty of other games that could really mess around and lose , so we could see some real , just chaos in the Pac-12 .
College Football Games and Offensive Performance
Speaker 2Last thing before we go on Olly Gordon , the running back from Oklahoma State is so good he's run for over 250 yards two games in a row . Now he's there . Now Oklahoma State is hosting Oklahoma in Bedlam the last time we're going to see Bedlam for a long time . Oklahoma can't really stop the run , as we saw from Kansas last week . Oh man , olly Gordon , get your attendance up , watch that guy , because he is just crushing people .
Speaker 1Yeah , that's going to be a fun one anyway . But yeah , he's run for a butt load . That's a metric butt load , I think it's believed .
Speaker 2English terms .
Speaker 1That's a lot of yards and that'll be a fun one it always is but especially with Oklahoma seemingly reeling a little bit and now Oklahoma State surging . Yeah , good , point out there , I like that .
Speaker 2Yeah , I like Gordon's too . All right , let's talk about some homers . Lsu was on a buy , so it's easy Tennessee solid win . This is your game . Jump in , give me your Kentucky takes .
Speaker 1Yeah , I think that obviously Kentucky is a good team with an extremely good running game . Tennessee came in and said we will not let you beat us with the run . Devon Leary hasn't been great all year . Devon Leary actually played well enough to win that game . He looked like the Devon Leary of old that we thought we were going to get right .
Speaker 1Yeah , and Tennessee played pretty solid all the way around , did what they had to do , put up another monster game on the ground . Joe Milton had his probably best complete game . Looks good moving the ball on scramble drills . He ran the ball well . I think he's finally healthy . All of a sudden we've got you know three , probably three games in a row where he's putting up some good designed runs and it really adds another dynamic to the offense . I think Dante Thornton is getting more comfortable on the outside at wide receiver versus work in the slot . So I think they're finding some things and it's good to see .
Speaker 2So , yeah , I thought this was the Devon Leary that we thought we were going to get a long time ago . I thought it was his best game . Kudos to Kentucky . It's not like every time Tennessee took a two-score lead , kentucky immediately made it a one-score game . They were able to counter punch pretty well . So I want to give Kentucky a little bit of credit in that regard . I agree with you .
Speaker 2I think Josh Hyblon Company is doing a really good job of maximizing what Milton does , and I thought he had a couple more runs . I was kind of surprised , looking back , why that wasn't a more feature earlier in the season , but you might be right , maybe that was an injury thing . He obviously had that option keeper towards the very , very end of the game to ice it . He had another keeper in the second quarter who did really well on . He is still a big , strong , long striding , you know deceptively fast kid , and obviously Tennessee is really damn good at running the ball anyway . So I would like to see him run the ball , especially with monster matchups Missouri and Georgia coming up next . I really like that a lot . So my only other note is Samson , your best running back , because he looked like it this past Saturday .
Speaker 1No , no , jalen Wright for sure is our number one guy . He's averaging like eight yards a carry this deep into the season Probably like more , like seven and a half , but yeah , he's putting up big numbers . But Samson is continually coming on strong as the number two guy surpassing . He's very small who is a really solid overall back .
Speaker 2Yeah , no , it looks like he's a legitimate three-headed monster . I was super impressed with Dylan Samson . He looked good and he just was . There's a couple of times where he was taking hits and he just wouldn't go down . Really great balance . He's played physical football and I like Dylan Samson . Is he a freshman ? Is he ? Is he ? Is he young ? He's a sophomore .
Speaker 1Yeah , he came on last year . Yeah , Kentucky really good against the run . And again , you know we've played Alabama A&M Kentucky . Everybody said not going to be able to run the ball . We've been able to run the ball really well against everybody . Yep , We've gone against .
Speaker 2And I expect that to continue . Georgia will be the obviously the most formidable challenge all year , but I think that's continue . I'm not sure what the who's returning the SEC and I'm not sure who's returning for Tennessee , but Dylan Samson is quickly becoming my favorite ball and I think he's going to play himself onto some preseason 2024 SEC list .
Speaker 2I really think he's a good one , super bullish on him . All right , uva tough loss to Miami . Had the chance , had him on the ropes . I'm going to go ahead and say it UVA has a flat out good offense , no qualifiers necessary , it is really good . They have figured out Tony Elliott's offense . You know what he brought from Clemson . They have two quarterbacks in Tony Blunderbuss and Anthony Calandria . The backup , malachi Fields and Malik Washington , are awesome receivers . They're offensive line , which has been a liability since , really since he got here is playing really well . Mike Hollins , paris Jones , they've got great backs . Defense at least was desired . But I mean , if you're looking for signs of life at UVA , if you're looking for optimism , look at the offense , because the offense is good outside of Florida State and maybe a healthy Duke I don't know what offense the ACC you would want more .
Speaker 1Yeah , you would like to see and Duke and be able to run the ball a little bit better . You know , I don't know if that's by design . You know , musket had he went 24 for 38 . They only ran for a buck 38 . But on the flip side of that you know , that's kind of the way the game played out Miami wasn't running the ball well either . 113 yards on the ground , miami didn't really move the ball that well . They're lucky to get out of that game with a win .
Speaker 2Yeah , they're looking for a little suspect . All of a sudden they you know a month ago or whatever it was six weeks ago when they came out and annihilated Texas A&M 48 to 34 , whatever it was . They looked awesome . They looked like they were really going to make some noise and kind of being a little shaky . And I don't know if TVD is still out . I think he's still . I think he's still banged up . I think I think all American Safety Camp Kitchen was also hurt .
Speaker 1He played . He just threw two picks and only threw for 163 yards .
Speaker 2Right , so I don't . And against UVA . That's because UVA is what I'm going to give the . I'm going to give their flowers . The offense defense is still a work in progress . I just don't know that Miami is . I'm not sure TVD is healthy and something weird . I maybe . Maybe that Georgia Tech late loss was just just . Maybe they're still rattled from that . I mean , frankly , that would you know , that would that would keep me up for weeks or months if I was a diehard Miami fan . Let's be honest . So I don't know . But Kudos , uva , the two and six , the probably not going boy with record schedule , but you are seeing signs . You were seeing con , you were seeing growth .

Speaker 2So Virginia Tech monster win , beat the breaks off of Syracuse .
Speaker 1Yeah , thursday night and the night on Lane .
Speaker 2Love it Shout out to that picture that partner turner kick returner Kimber his name , that tall white guy . They just kept kicking the ball to him and he's kept making plays . He's really , really good . Drones had a nice day . I watched this game . He missed . He missed some wide open guys . He's definitely missing his shots , but he what he could do moving the ball . Tutank has turned into be a better back than I think I gave him credit for . The defense played the best game they've played all season by far . Trader and Dino Babers can scheme some things up and Virginia Tech was just ready for everything . All of a sudden , virginia Tech's whole season is out in front of them .
Speaker 1Yeah , syracuse couldn't do anything . 137 total yards , virginia Tech put up 528 . So just a very lopsided game all the way around and against a pretty evenly matched opponent . So definite signs of growth for the Hokies .
Speaker 2Yep , all right . Well , I think I got for last week before we jump in the next week . Let's keep rolling , All right . So I got a couple of big picture things that I want to jump that I want to jump into
USC Defense and Clemson Challenges
Speaker 2next week . Did you hear Alex Grinch's comments as USC defense coordinator about the loss to Utah last week about wheel routes ? I did not . So Utah beat USC this week before and one of the things they did was they did a lot of passes running backs . I mean , they're just Utah's quarterback is limited . They can take a lot of deep down shots , so short passes are kind of what they're doing . And Alex Grinch , the defense coordinator for USC , was like oh , we had so much trouble with that because we hadn't seen it on film . They ran it four times the week before . It was wild . Like , if you want to talk about how unserious the USC defense coordinator's situation is , like , look no further than claiming there's no film on the exact play . There was film of the week before . It's just wild . What's going on in USC ?
Speaker 1Yeah , that one , oh , not a . That's a little bit of a black eye .
Speaker 2Yeah , spencer Rattler is an absolute warrior . I watched a lot of the USC A&M game . They lost again His arch from Oklahoma . He was supposed to be the number one quarterback prospects . Go to Oklahoma , number one pick . He obviously took his lumps . He went to . He went to something , something called South Carolina . He gets murdered every week and he gets and he's got no help outside of Xavier Leggette who I think is hurt , and Nicholas Harbour , the freshman , who's doing some couple of things like he is out there by himself . I'm rooting for that guy . I went from like this kid's , wildly unlikable since watching him on like that QB one special , like when he was in high school , to now I'm fully on Spencer Rattler training .
Speaker 1Well , he is the only reason South Carolina has had any success in the past two years Full stop yeah .
Speaker 2Yeah , and it just I guess you got to give you just respect .
Speaker 1respect him for getting out and getting a chain beamer needs to follow that guy around and just like , fan him and give him water and anything he needs , because if it's not for him , beamer might be getting fired at the end of this year . Because you can hang a lot of what beamer is been able to do . Yep , you know . On Spencer Rattler .
Speaker 2It's true . So Kudos to Rattler Malik Murphy . Is he the early odds for the number one transfer next season ? Because let's face it , quinn , you were just going pro and there's no world where Arch Manning is sitting on the bench again next year . Last week and this week and I think the week after is the Malik Murphy tryout . Who is going to ? You know he's leaving . Where he's going , I have no idea .
Speaker 1Yeah , that's a .
Speaker 2Miami , who knows ?
Speaker 1He'll be able to pick a spot for sure , yeah .
Speaker 2So keep an eye on him because as good as he is , he ain't playing at Texas . That much I am confident of . Is Clemson going bowling ?
Speaker 1I don't know , but Davo is constantly in the headlines for all the wrong reasons .
Speaker 2So I wrote that note down before I saw the commentary where he started when he went off on that caller on the call in show .
Speaker 1Yeah who sounded like a , like a pretty young kid yeah .
Speaker 2He was like some softworn his dorm , just like just poking the bear , and Davo was just like happy to give it to him . Davo was talking like a guy who won thinks he's truly untouchable which he might be , he actually might be truly untouchable , clemson and a guy who's cracking under pressure . Like at the same time there are two things happening .
Speaker 1It's like yeah , I agree with you and I think both of those things I mean looking at it from kind of an unbiased third party perspective are probably valid . Like he deserves to have a little bit of chip on his shoulder , like he is right in a lot of ways . Is he presenting it the right way ? Necessarily , I don't think so . You know , do you have to handle that a little bit better , probably , but he's right , yeah , he's right , kind of like .
Speaker 2It's just true . The last four games Notre Dame at home this week , which we'll talk about , georgia Tech , which is all of a sudden upsetting monsters . Don't sleep on Georgia Tech folks , north Carolina , who's a very potent office as we know . And the last game of the week at South Carolina , out of South Carolina , is not very good but that's a rivalry game . Tough Carolina beat him last year . I'm just saying , like there are easily one or two . I don't think there are three losses there . I don't . I think Clemson is going to finish seven and five . I think there were three of these four , but I you know this has been , this has been a wild , wildly unsuccessful season for for clubs and Tigers .
Speaker 1Yeah , and a tough , you know , task in coaching is getting guys who had expectations of winning a national championship to deal with this fall from grace a little bit , you know , like if you had your sights on a college football playoff . And how do you get these guys excited to potentially go to the music city bowl ? You know you got to keep them focused and that's going to be tough for them down in the stretch .
Speaker 2Yeah , Okay , Very cool . Last thing on that , what I'm going to say is um , so one thing that should be interesting for me the Clemson . So they just hired a new AD and obviously new AD knows a school like Clemson . The primary job is the football team . It's going to be really interesting to see if the new AD can get clump , can get dabbler , to do like the low hanging fruit , Like number one dude , the transfer portal . You have got to start embracing it because he's refused . He refuses to do it . It's not probably some multiply . I think he's been pretty reluctant on the NIL stuff , although he's kind of come around , although he did say Clemson plays him with the name image likeness of the Lord . But was that what he said ? Something like that .
Speaker 1Um , you could put that on a board and tell me . Dabo said it and I would believe you .
Speaker 2Yeah .
Speaker 1I don't know if he said it , but that sounds very sad .
Speaker 2I think I saw that playing somewhere on Twitter . So keep an eye on that space . New AD Dabo is transitioning the new world , the new world of college football with transfer NIL Like what is that going to look like ? Dabo has not been shy about being super resistant to both things . But you know , I don't think the folks in Clemson who love Dabo to national championships and they've all all everything we know about Clemson . You got to go way back Old school Clemson fans like before you and I were alive to talk about a Clemson that was really interesting and relevant and a national college power before Dabo . So Dabo deserves all of that credit , but I don't think they're going to sit around and watch and only get to sit on their laurels and watch them slowly deteriorate the program back to .
Speaker 1I mean , let's be honest , though , it's been one year , like if I'm Dabo , I don't take too kindly to this new AD coming in here telling me what to do , Like maybe that's what's ruffling the feathers a little bit .
Speaker 2You know , but we're not talking about eight and four , we're talking about six and six . They're going to lose one , maybe two more of these things , so we'll see . Keep an eye on Clemson . I still think they're a giant program with monster capabilities , monster opportunities and resources . Just like they , if it's weird .
Speaker 1It's weird . They push Dabo out . They're going to F around and find out they're not coaching change . It's not . Not the answer .

Speaker 2Initial takeaways . I only have one or two who I think is going to be there at the very end , and what I saw today Ohio State . They are giving them , they are going to give , they're giving them the backdoor to get back in when they lose to Michigan . That's what I , that's the first thing . I'm putting them at number one . It says to me that when they lose to Michigan I think they will , and in our burden of the season , they are going to give them a chance to backdoor their way in . That's what . That's what that's what number one tells me . Number two I'll go with your thoughts . What's your ?
Speaker 1thought . My thought is , the pack 12 gets , gets somebody in .
Speaker 2Yeah , yeah , and I think it's going to be .
Speaker 1Oregon . You've got Washington at five , oregon at six . I think both of those teams back to back there with the remaining schedules sitting right outside the top four right now have a have are going to get . One of those teams is going to find a way .

It was such an ugly game because that's exactly what they did and I mean they could easily get one that you dub game . I think Oregon's better and I'll see when they play in the patchhole championship , which I think they will . I'm taking Oregon until I see otherwise . So I think I think you're right , I think it's Oregon , I think the big 12s and get left out . I think Texas , oklahoma , I think they're going to be , I think you're going to see them fall apart .

Right now they're going to play Louisville or Virginia Tech . They just beat Virginia Tech by 30 at home , like a couple of weeks ago . We're like 20 , 19 . Like , who is who's ? There's nothing in Florida State's way , if I would actually say I'll go once it further other than the winner of the Michigan Ohio State game .

I think Kyle McCord is not good enough to think you know the one thing you can say about , but he's not the four teams that I said Carson Beck , jordan Travis , bow Nix and Jim McCarthy .

I don't think Kyle McCord has enough to get there . I don't think Quinn , yours , I don't . I'm gentlemen Jalen Milrow , dylan , gabriel Jackson , dart , jewel , drew Alar , who drew a lot of , who made his first , who made his first good college football downfield passing play ever , because took Indiana and week eight to finally get there . None of those , none of those kinds of great quarterbacks .
Speaker 1So it's interesting about this is and you're right , I mean it does take elite quarterback play . But here now we're looking at Georgia , last year with Stetson Bennett , who was like a 30 year old man uh bow Nix this year . Who has the record for the ?
Speaker 1most art college football history Kudos to you man and so in this college transfer portal era , we're doing it with age and we're doing it with guys who've been around and there's something to be said for that . Down the road , like , when you look at teams who's been around , you know you got Michael Penn X Jr , who's also played a lot of ball . Um , it , maybe that's what we're seeing . Playoff Contenders and Texas vs. Kansas State Football Game
Speaker 1. So , yeah , I think it's not all about those super talented . You know , freshman sophomores , you need some age , especially at the quarterback position .
Speaker 2Give me a one or two loss team . Give me , give me somebody like outside the 10 who could play their way into the playoff and tell me how they do it . No-transcript .
Speaker 1So I got you got to go LSU here , because when you're looking at the schedule and you're looking at you , you've got to have opportunity . You could also go Missouri , because they've got Georgia Louisville I mean Louisville , potentially , yeah , I mean any any of those second-wrong teams Because you've got to have one monster game left on the schedule Regular season and then you've got you got to have the opportunity to win the conference and then you're in so yeah , I mean , I think , agree with you .
Speaker 2I think it's LSU . Obviously we're playing at Bama this week we're gonna talk about here in a second and the other one would be a theoretical Rematch with Georgia and honestly , I think I'm pretty confident that if a two-loss SEC champion LSU would jump Georgia Just because Georgia's schedule has been so , so bad , they don't get . I don't think Georgia would get a Mulligan . So I think , I think there's a . I think I think in like a 2007 type year with like endless chaos , you can make a case for Notre Dame sitting there . Two losses . They've , they seem to take care of business , but it's only because they're Notre Dame , they're named , gets so much , gets so much permission . I just they get , they get a lot of things . But , like you know , alabama , texas , oklahoma , even Ole Miss , all these schools could run the table and go . I just don't think they have the firepower or the opportunity , like you said , to do that good stuff , anything else before we jump into this week of football .

Speaker 2Kansas State . Plus four was plus seven at Texas . Texas is gonna need more Adam and Leak Murphy , full stop case . They'd has put it together . They are surging . So all the smart people , the big brainiacs , are loading up on case 8 , at least at that at that price point .

So this is , you know , a big step up to big boy football . They lost that early game to Missouri . We don't know who they are . Yeah .

They were placed B John Robinson and Rocha Johnson . John the Brooks wasn't much of . It was not much of a step down , which is really saying something . Got kudos to Texas and Sark . This feels like it . This feels to me I'm gonna get away , I'm gonna disagree with you . This feels like a is Texas back moment . This feels like a home loss . I'm giving the case state .
Speaker 1Yeah , previous years . I think I'm right there with you . I just think I have a little bit more belief for Texas this year . And it is at home . They still there's still everything on the line , they're still looking , you know , yes , so yeah , I like , I like them right here .
Speaker 2It's gonna take a lot of Malik Murphy who . Malik Murphy has a lot of line as well because he knows , I think , what . There's a world where he sees trouble archmaning gets the court gets it , gets in the game at third quarter . That might be wild . So keep an eye on that space . Previewing College Football Games
Speaker 2Missouri plus 16 at Georgia . I felt a whole lot better about Missouri than a week or two ago than I do now .
Speaker 2I've already hammered on us . I'm not going to . I just think Georgia has woken up . I think they are a beast . I think they're rolling . I like Missouri , I like Missouri , they're just . This is not was the bad spot at Athens too .
Speaker 1Yeah , yeah , I got a there's . There's not much else to say . Missouri's good in the trenches . They can . They can sling the ball around . Maybe if Georgia Turns the ball over a couple times they can . They can keep , keep the game close . But yeah , georgia probably runs away with this one . Yeah .
Speaker 2I just think there is just I think a Missouri plays them in October 8th . I think Missouri's got a real chance , but she's actually at home . That could be a real upset spot . I think , now that you're seeing Georgia kind of hit their stride , carson Beck really found the groove . I just don't think you're . I don't want to do about that Bedlam . This is gonna be the last bedlam .
Speaker 2Bedlam is the name of the game of the Oklahoma versus Oklahoma State rivalry , which is going back to the Chilean years . They're playing it for the last time , at least officially , this year , because Oklahoma is moving to the SEC , oklahoma State staying the big 12 , oklahoma State and my gun , he has been not been shy about this right them leaving and how mad they are at them , frankly . And it's bad blood and it was bad blood before that Oklahoma is minus six at oaky state . It's in still water . Um , look , I don't think Oklahoma can play deep run defense very well . And I'm already we've already talked about Ali Gordon , oklahoma State running back . Who's awesome . I got Oklahoma State winning this outright . This is the week K State and Oklahoma State are going to ruin the big 12s playoff Chances this week . Give me both of those dogs this week .
Speaker 1So this is why I agree with you , because I just love this , this Spot for Oklahoma State . Yeah , oklahoma is just coming off of a terrible game , a terrible loss against Kansas . They're wounded and they're walking into a friggin Hornets nest and Oklahoma State has been looking forward to this one all year and they're gonna be so jacked up and ready and physical and it's gonna be just tough to respond . I still like Oklahoma . I just don't love the spot that this one's in for them you know , keeping my Oklahoma State .
Speaker 2We got off to rough start . They lost to South Alabama 33 to 7 at home and they really figured it out K State , kansas , west Virginia and this past week they just annihilated . Since that , in the back of Ali Gordon , you're talking about other teams that have kind of figured it out and rounded into form . Oklahoma wanted to play Oklahoma State a month ago . This is not the version of Oklahoma State you want to play .
Speaker 1Yeah , this isn't this isn't the NFL . This is not like you know . These guys are frickin professional football robots . That , yeah , are fully formed things . These teams change week to week . They progress , they get better , they get worse . You got to keep these 18 to 22 year olds super focused and sharp , and this is a perfect example of that and why I think Oklahoma State Can win this one , you agree .
Speaker 2Awesome Notre Dame minus three at Clemson Dab . So Davos heated and he needs this win . This is the kind of win that Davos needs badly . However , problem is , I don't think it's gonna matter . I think Notre Dame is physical . They are going to impose their will . Sma is going to run . Notre Dame played , remember , notre Dame played week zero . So they're seven and two . So they only have three games left . Um , rest , they only have three games . Rest the , where I Don't think they're going . I'm not sure that they're going to lose the rest of the way . They got Clemson , wake Forest and Stanford . I like Notre Dame to finish 10 and 2 here . I Know they're playing At Clemson , which is a tough place to play ask anybody who's been there but I like I got Notre Dame . Here they're . They're also rounding into form .
Speaker 1Yeah , I just think Notre Dame's a much better football team right now yeah they're not allowed to say about it . I know Clemson's wounded and they're gonna , they're gonna come out and they're gonna try super hard .
Speaker 2But Udub minus three and a half at USC . So Cal Udub is in a funk , spent two bad weeks . Um , you know , the good news is Alex Grinch is not a serious person and that is the cure for that . I think Udub is gonna get back on track this week . I think I think headaches those receivers , nfl guys , just way too good . And playing at USC Is there a home field advantage there ? I can we , you know there's a lot . Insert your hornet's nest joke here like it's it , ain't it , it ain't . I don't think anybody's intimidated going , like the nice weather , like no , nope , no hostile fans .
Speaker 1I think I need to play there again . I like Udub for a couple reasons . Here again we're gonna talk about the spot of the game . You know , usc is kind of reeling right now and while Washington has been limping along a little bit , this is like the perfect bounce back opportunity because it's a game they actually have to get up for and they've just got too much offensive firepower and USC is just too bad at defense . I think Penix Jr can name his score . This is a bounce back game for him . He's going to put up monster numbers .
Speaker 2I hope some PPP fund needs it . I mean , there's always , I think , the only reason , the only reason the spreads even anywhere close to that is because of Caleb Williams , and it should be . Caleb Williams is arguably the one that best playing college football number one pick next year , so he's always capable of going off . But with the defense that bad Udub is going to get a handful of stops . That's all they're going to need . That's all they're going to need . I just said that they're not going to get stopped against this horrific defense . It's going to be Udub's cover . Texas A&M plus three at Ole Miss .
Speaker 2This is my upset special of the day . This is the only reason I'm bringing it up . I just got a feeling about this one . I'll tell you why . Jimbo is coaching for his job . I know you can feel it in your stones , but maybe that's something else .

They've won four of the last five ever since they put in my favorite terrible college football player , henrik Harburg . Awful quarterback Matt Rule is very quietly putting Nebraska back together and they're going to go to a bowl this year and , honestly , given the rest of their schedule against SCC West and POST , they do have to play Iowa and Wisconsin . Both of those teams are beatable . I'm just I'm not saying I'm just saying I picked Nebraska to win the Big 10 West , which was probably a bad pick , but they are alive and they keep winning . So the Big 10 is terrible . The Big 10 is freaking terrible .
Speaker 2It's so bad and they're going to win this week and they're going to win this week at Michigan State . That's pointed to John .
Speaker 1They've got eight out of the 10 worst scoring offenses in the FBS Power Five . Eight out of 10 . And that's that's inclusive of Nebraska and Michigan State . So here's another terrible offensive game .
Speaker 2So look . So here's Nebraska's coach with the rest of the way at Michigan State versus Maryland , who's all of a sudden reeling just terrible , fall apart , rip it . Fall on College Park at Wisconsin versus Iowa . There can easily I mean I think there , I think there are when three of the last four of those games they're going to finish eight and four , which is an incredible year . It's better than Scott Frost ever did . That's Matt rule year one . Like if that happens , tell me you're not . You're not dancing in the street if you're a Nebraska fan .

Speaker 2Uva minus two and a half versus Georgia Tech . At home they are favored against an ACC caliber opponent . Congratulations to the Wahoos for putting himself in this position . Must win here , though , for fans support . Proof of concept for UVA coaching . I think UVA is going to get a dub here . Yeah , I do too .
Speaker 1I think they're putting , they're building on a lot of things . I think it's a good time to see that come to fruition with a nice dub yeah , bullish on them .
Speaker 2Virginia Tech plus nine and a half at Louisville . Brent Pry has a monster . Louisville is really good . Brent Pry has a monster opportunity to put this team so far ahead of schedule if they can somehow get this win . Everybody knows Virginia Tech is a rebuild . Year one was rough , we're a year two . This team looks different . Jake Plummer is a really good quarterback . They're playing at Louisville . I think Louisville is a really solid ACC team . It's a monster test . But can is there a world where Virginia Tech can get this win ?
Speaker 1I think there is if they do it with defense and Louisville turns the ball over . Unfortunately , you know it's at Louisville . If this was in Lane Stadium , I'd give him a puncher's chance , but unfortunately Jake Plummer is a good quarterback . He's not going to turn the ball over , he's going to take care of it . Tech would need some fluky things . I don't see it playing out that way . Is it Jake Plummer or Jack Plummer who's Jake Plummer .
Speaker 2Jake Plummer is like the Arizona Jack Plummer , jack Plummer , jack Plummer . I think Jake Plummer is like the old , like Arizona Cardinals quarterback . Anyway , are they related ? It might be , I don't know . All right , last week , the game of the year , the game of there's . I was talking to my wife the other day . There is nothing I care more about in sports . I watch thousands of sporting events every year , thousands of hours . There's no game I care more about than this one . This is the game that defines my season .
Speaker 2Lsu at Alabama . They are plus three . The spread started at plus seven All the way down to plus three , which means on a neutral site . Vegas has these teams , as even . I'm so excited , I'm so scared , I have so many feelings . What you need to know . Lsu is down . Both teams are coming off a bye , so getting healthy , which is good . However , lsu is down . Mackay , wingo , they're all American defensive tackle several of their cornerbacks , which is a problem because LSU secondary has been woeful . Really worried about that . Lsu's offense , though , is number one in the country Nick Saban's kryptonite .
Speaker 2Over the years , if you look at the few games he's lost , he's all been against outstanding mobile quarterbacks . I don't think LSU has ever had a mobile quarterback as good as Jayden Daniels . I mean , he's a Heisman caliber candidate . For a reason , I think we're going to win . I have a weird I think . Usually I go into these games and we're playing Bama's defense with Minka Fitzpatrick and Duran Payne . I just I know that we're going against Goliath . This team doesn't feel that way and I know Brian Kelly's got stones . He's not afraid of Saban , he's not afraid to go there . This is . I'm really feeling confident about this game . I kind of think you should .
Speaker 1I think you should win . I like LSU in this spot because of Jayden Daniels and their offense , because I don't think that Bama has the offense to keep up with them . I do think that they're going to need to play very efficiently . Daniels is going to have to be smart when he tucks fit and runs , one thing Bama can do . They've got one of the best past past rushes in the country and Jaylen Milrow is very good at times and he does have the capability to put a point , especially against an LSU secondary . That's been pretty bad in spots . Bama can hit those deep shots . They're going to try to run the ball and hit you with deep shots , but I think that LSU's offense could be more consistent . So I like LSU here in a shootout . Their pass rush is really good .
Speaker 2Dallas Turner has brought it on . The good news for LSU is we've got all American Will Campbell that's the challenge . Malik Neighbors is going against Kool-Aid McInstree , another all American type defensive back , brian Thomas , kyren Lacey , who were guarding them humongous question marks . And the LSU's offensive line is a Joe Moore finalist caliber unit , one of the best LSU offensive lines I've ever seen . So I really like that matchup . The matchup that I like , obviously , is LSU's offense with their defense . I know Bama's defense is good , but this offense is just unbelievable . What I hate , what I don't want , is Jalen Milrow getting off schedule , scrambling deep balls . We're going to be starting three freshmen or two freshmen on the outside of the corner and , like that , just has the .
Speaker 1And you saw KJ Jefferson do that against this LSU defense .
Speaker 2Yeah , and those were the guys that were healthy , the better guys supposed to have . So that has , and Jalen .
Speaker 1Milrow is a better quarterback right now than KJ Jefferson . Kj Jefferson , who's regressed .
Speaker 2One of the names that we have not mentioned a lot this season who's because it's been kind of been transitioning from two positions is who really come on these last two and a half games Harold Perkins . He might be the difference here . He's playing more of a nickel roll now in coverage and blitzing off , blitzing from the slot , like you might he could be . He did an incredible job spying Bryce Young last year and really kept Bryce Young in the pocket . I could see that again for him this year . Real X factor for our defense is Harold Perkins , who was a lot of preseason best defensive player of the year caliber trophy . So I am cautiously optimistic . I'm also terrified because I just want to beat them . So bad , mike .
